Spin a list

Open the library and tap a list card or Spin, or open one of your lists. Keyboard users tab to Spin.
Press the wheel. Sparks fly from a pointer click. Enter or Space also starts a spin.
The wheel slows. Confetti falls and the winner pops up big. A screen reader hears that a spin is underway, then the winner name.
Press the winner or Spin again when you are ready for another spin.

Winners show under the wheel unless the list hides history. Log in to keep them after you close the browser. Clear history removes those winners after a confirmation.

Lists

The library is full of ready-made lists. Log in to make your own or copy one. You can change lists you own. Shared starter lists are copied, not edited in place. A list can hide its spin history. Clear history asks for confirmation. Filter the library by content rating and search lists by name or slices.

Each slice can have:

Name — skip this if you pick an icon.
Icon — skip this if you pick a name. Choose None to leave the icon off.
Color — the slice color. A palette color is used if you skip it.
Wait time — how long this slice sits out after it wins. Optional.
On the wheel — turn a slice off to leave it out.
Sitting out — remaining wait for you. Turn it off to reset that wait.

A name or an icon is enough.

How the wheel chooses

Full random: Any slice that is on can win.
Use wait times: After a win, that slice sits out until its wait time ends. Slices with no wait stay in the mix. If everything is sitting out, the wheel pauses. Reset waits sits under the wheel. The editor shows a Sitting out toggle under On the wheel.
Disable once chosen: Each winner leaves the wheel until you reset. The slice drops off as soon as you spin again. The shared list itself does not change. Reset progress sits under the wheel, and when the wheel is empty.
Cycle through all: Every slice gets a turn. Then the wheel mixes them and starts over. Restart cycle sits under the wheel.

Your waits and turns are just for you. Other people spinning a shared list keep their own progress.

Accounts

Create an account with email, password, and a display name. The email identifies the account and is used to confirm it and recover it. Some sites send a confirmation link. On those sites you may need to confirm before you add or share lists, or the account may wait until you open the link. You can send another link from the account page when you are logged in. The name shows on lists you share. Logging in can add this visit’s progress to the account when that list does not already have saved progress.

Forgot the password? Use Forgot password on the log-in page. If that email matches an account, a reset link arrives. For safety, the site does not say whether the email was found. Reset links last one hour and work once.

The account page offers a color theme. Carnival is the default pink, gold, and cyan look. Readable colors uses orange, blue, and yellow tones that stay distinct for common color-vision differences. The choice applies at once. A logged-in account stores it.

A list can be public (in the library), hidden (off the library, anyone with the link can spin), or private (only you). Copies start private.

The account page can download a copy of what the account stores. It can also delete the account. Deletion removes the account, lists it owns, progress, and spin history.

Content ratings

Every list has a rating so people can choose what they are comfortable seeing.

Family-Friendly: Fine for all ages.
Moderate: Mild language, romance, or alcohol.
Mature: Stronger language, adult themes, or drugs.
Explicit: Sexual content or very strong language.

When you make a list, choose the rating that fits. Stronger words in the title, description, or slices raise the lowest rating you can choose, and a flag appears on that field. If you later take those words out, milder ratings become available again, but the list keeps the stronger rating until you choose a lower one yourself.

The library can hide some ratings until you turn them on. A site can also block some ratings entirely; those choices stay unavailable when you edit. A link to a list still opens.

Search the library or My lists by name or slices as you type.

Copy and reset

Copy to my lists makes a personal version you can edit. Lists that are not Full random offer a reset under the wheel. Reset progress also shows when every slice has had a turn in Disable once chosen, including when the wheel is already empty. It puts those slices back on your wheel without changing the list.

Administrators

An administrator sees an Admin link in the header. That console manages accounts, lists, rating phrases, configuration, and stats. Other people do not see it. Administrators also have moderator access.

Moderators

A moderator sees a Mod link in the header. That console is separate from Admin. An account is a user, a moderator, or an administrator — never more than one. Moderators work within limits set on the administrator Configuration page: which lists they can see, whether they can hide or make a list private, disable it, delete it, restrict new lists, add a warning, or set and lock a content rating.

A disabled list stays on the owner’s My lists page with a Moderator disabled label. It cannot be opened, edited, copied, or spun. The owner can delete it after a confirmation. A warning stores the list (when there is one), the account, the time, the moderator, and a reason. When warnings are shown, the account page shows a red count. Opening the count shows those warnings. Moderators can take back warnings when that power is on. Configuration can require one or more moderator reviews before an account can publish a public list, or before a list can be public.

Keyboard and screen readers

Skip to content is the first tab stop and jumps to the main area. Tab follows the visible order: header, page content, footer. Enter and Space activate buttons and the wheel. Escape closes the menu, an icon picker, and console dialogs and returns focus to the control that opened them.

List cards keep Spin and Edit as the keyboard and screen-reader controls. Each of those names the list, so a links list does not read as a string of identical Spin buttons. The wheel names the winner by icon and name, not by color. Form errors stay with their fields. Log out sits at the bottom right of the account header.

Text sits on solid cards, not on the photograph. Links in the page and footer are underlined. The operating system’s more-contrast setting drops the photograph. Browser zoom reflows the layout; a short window unsticks the header so it does not cover the page.
